For 2008 Adams has made a few tweaks to their very successful line of hybrid golf clubs, but they have not introduced any brand new product lines or major design changes.  Special senior lines of clubs based on the popular A3 Boxer and A2 OS (stands for off-set; puts the CG of the club a bit farther back) have extended the product line.  Adams is also adding some more detailed information to their web site product content.  They specify that

the A3 Boxer, for example, has a MOI (moment of inertia) of 3350, and they claim this is 30-70% higher than that of several other major competitors.

Idea A3 Boxer

This line has received the prestigious “Hot List” award for 2008 from Golf Digest.  As stated above, Adams has added an extension to this product line by including the A3 Boxer Senior line.  This line consists of 3-6 hybrids rather than 2-5 hybrids for the regular line.  In addition, the A3 Boxer Senior line comes with a lighter shaft, that is, an Aldila 65 gram graphite shaft, as opposed to the standard Grafalloy 80 gram shaft.  Other than this, the product line is pretty much the same as it was last year, and you can read that description by clicking here: Adams Hybrid Golf Clubs home.

Idea Tech OS

The only major change here is the addition of a 2iWood to go along with the 3iWood and 4iWood offered last year.  iWoods essentially look more like conventional woods than irons, so they are distinguishing these clubs from the 5H and 6H that have more of an iron look.  Not much content is offered regarding the 2iWood, only a statement that it is available, so interested golfers will need to query the company about this specifically.  This is a premium line using multi-material technology.

Idea Pro

Once again, “if it ain’t broke, don’t fix it” seems to be the prevailing philosophy.  These clubs haven’t changed since last year’s models which won Golf Digest “Hot List” recognition.  The company is touting the fact that this line of hybrids is the number one choice of Nationwide and Champions Tour players, and number two on the PGA Tour, as well as the number one choice for all these tours combined.  So this has to be the hybrid model of choice for the top pros.  The clubs have adjustable weight ports and thus offer the opportunity for individual tweaks.

Idea a2 and a2OS Hybrids

Once again, Adams has not made major changes to this line of clubs.  They have added more details to their web content copy, letting golfers know that the CG of these clubs is 11% lower and 2.5 times deeper in comparison to conventional irons.  As with the A3 Boxer model, a specific Senior Line has been added to the a2OS (the OS stands for offset, which brings the CG of the clubhead back even further).  This Senior line consists of 3-5 iWood hybrids, and a 6H club.  Standard shafts with these are the 75 gram Aldila NVS.

Once again, not a lot of major changes are being offered in 2008, and why should they be?  The Adams Hybrid Golf Clubs product line is certainly successful, and they are sticking with what works.
