probably changed the amount of weight slightly and perhaps moved it a bit. The design goal is normally to lower the CG of the club head and increase MOI slightly.
In addition, the so-called “fast back” design which is used on Cobra wood clubs has been incorporated into the hybrid line as well. Basically this means that the back of the club is recessed a bit, and thus weight has been removed from the top of the club head and redistributed lower, which lowers the CG of the club. This will help get the ball up into the air easier.
The above changes are not drastic, and the basic information regarding these clubs remains the same and can be found by clicking here: Cobra Hybrid Golf Clubs.
In addition to the above changes, Cobra has added a line of Baffler DWS hybrid golf clubs for seniors to complement their existing offerings for men and women. The senior line consists of four clubs, 3H-6H. These clubs vary in loft from 23 degrees for the 3H, 26 degrees for the 4H, 29 degrees for the 5H, and 32 degrees for the 6H. The graphite shafts are very light, 60 grams, and the swing weight is C9. Both left and right hand versions are available in the Baffler DWS senior line.
Changes for 2008 are not extensive, and thus Cobra is sticking with the basic designs that have worked well for them. Since they can brag about being the best selling metal utility club on the market, this would seem to be a sound strategy. The special senior line of Baffler DWS hybrids is an excellent addition. Cobra understands that seniors and ladies probably have the greatest need for hybrid utility clubs. |
